This was a really pleasant kayaking event to watch. The overwhelming roar of the river and the smell you can mistake with no other added to the taste.
Choosing to take photos with a wide angle zoom I had to get as close to the kayakers as possible. This meant finding and climbing the rocks closest to the middle of the river. It was only the strong current and cold water that stopped me from getting straight into the stream to be even closer to the competitors.
It is for you to judge if the approach and effect was succesfull or not. In fact some places were to wet to get close enough and the photos were cropped slightly.
